The Rotary Club of Burnie
The Rotary Club of Burnie, a proud member of Rotary International, is dedicated to making a positive impact in our community & beyond. Established with a commitment to service above self, the club brings together professionals & community leaders who are passionate about fostering change. Our members engage in a wide range of projects aimed at improving education, promoting health and supporting community development. Through these initiatives, we strive to address the most pressing needs of our local community in Burnie while also contributing to international humanitarian efforts.
Our major projects include an annual Scholarship for the Rural Medical School at the Cradle Coast Campus of UTAS, building a new BBQ on the foreshore next to the Burnie Yacht Club at South Burnie and our major fund raiser is our Annual Golf Day at Seabrook Golf Club.
Our Aim
Rotary’s aim in running the Weekend at Burnie event includes strengthening community bonds and supporting local businesses by showcasing local food, beverage and musicians. It also serves as a fundraiser to support Rotary’s community projects and initiatives.
The event promotes tourism and economic development by attracting visitors to Tasmania’s North West Coast, boosting the local economy. Additionally, it encourages volunteerism and civic participation, helping residents develop leadership skills. The event raises awareness of Rotary’s mission and fosters its positive image, while providing recreational opportunities.
Weekend at Burnie will enhance community life and support the local economy by boosting tourism in the area whilst aligning with Rotary’s values of service above self.
